About the Maryland SPCA Festival for the Animals, formerly March for the Animals
Each year, thousands of people and their dogs come out to support the homeless pets in our care. Festival participants and their furry companions attend this fun-packed day full of refreshments, contests, demonstrations, pet-related sponsors and vendors and much more. The Festival is entertaining for all!
A leisurely walk at Port Covington becomes so much more when you share it with your companion animal and thousands of animal lovers - and even better yet when you use your efforts to make a difference in the lives of homeless pets in your community!
New this year, will be a free, outdoor music concert featuring local, regional and national music acts beginning at 12 p.m. and continuing until 8 p.m. Alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase by adults 21-years-of age or older with proper I.D.
Begin raising pledges now and get ready for the one event your pet looks forward to every bit as much as you. And, there's more - this year, we're planning an even bigger event with a music concert, pet contests demos, games, pet photos, vendors and great food all to benefit the animals.
Why it's important to take this walk?
- The Maryland SPCA does not receive operating support from the ASPCA and is not affiliated with any other SPCA. That's why the critical support raised around this event means so much to us.
- Maryland SPCA Festival for the Animals supports nearly 10% of the Maryland SPCA's annual operating budget -- the pets in our care are relying on your support!
- Spending the day with an animal loving community and celebrating the special bond you share with your pet is a wonderful way to spend a Saturday.
- You'll engage your friends and family and feel a sense of pride on your journey to fundraising on behalf of the homeless pets in our community.
