Each year, thousands of people and their dogs come out to support the pets in the MD SPCA’s care. Festival participates and their furry companions enjoy a fun-filled day complete with family-friendly contests, demonstrations, pet-related vendors, refreshments for all, and much more. For a registration fee of $40, you can receive a festival t-shirt and access to all festival activities.

To celebrate the MD SPCA’s 150th anniversary participants are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite decade from 1869 to 2019. Enter yourself and your pet in our best costume contest. Prizes will be awarded to the best decade costumes—judged by local, well-known personalities.

We’re going back to our roots. This year’s festival will return to Druid Hill Park—a site favorite for many past participants.

Why walk?

• The Maryland SPCA promotes healthy pets and healthy people—getting out for walk is good for the body and mind and enhances the bond between you and your furry companion.

• The Maryland SPCA grew out of a community need—the festival celebrates the Baltimore-metro community of animal lovers and advocates.

• The Festival for the Animals provides nearly 10% of the Maryland SPCA’s annual operating budget—the pets in our care are relying on your support!
